We had our third GATHER workshop this past April on the beautiful New England coast in Rhode Island with four wonderful women.

For each GATHER workshop we have, we kick the celebration off with a dinner the evening before to enjoy some fellowship and get to know each other better. Here at TKP, we pride ourselves on preserving connection and community at the forefront.

On Saturday morning we learned from the amazing Grace Paul of Grace Paul Photography on how to shoot with intention to create art authentic to you.

Kayla Victor then deep-dived into branding and how to form a brand that connects with your inner self to attract ideal clients.

Following lunch, we had our maternity styled session led by Marie. Grace performed double duty and served as our model for the session and was such a champ - even getting in the water at the end!

We closed the workshop with our styled family session, led by Adrianne, on the Rhode Island coast. It was a great lesson on how to pivot and direct when things don't go according to plan - the temps were so cold, but you would never have known!

I am so glad that I decided to go to the Gather New England retreat. Not only did I make amazing connections with the educators and the fellow attendees, but I was able to spend precious time focusing on my business and myself. As a busy mom of two girls as well as a business owner I don't have a lot of free time. It felt so good to get away for a bit and truly focus on myself. Revisit what lights me up and why I started my photography business in the first place. Besides the gorgeous styled sessions my favorite part was creating a brand mood board, old school style with magazines, scissors and glue. Tangibly creating my vision for my business going forward was unexpected and completely needed. Prior to attending Gather New England, I was feeling very stuck in a creative rut. I was struggling with the comparison game while simultaneously feeling very disconnected from others in the photography world thanks to working from home by myself. I jumped a the opportunity to connect with other, like minded photographers and to get a creative boost. From the minute we sat down at the welcome dinner it was obvious that this was the perfect group to accomplish those goals with. Everyone was kind, genuine, helpful, and excited to be there. Watching Marie and Adrianne direct models and hearing their thought process as they worked gave me so many new things to try at my next sessions - I really feel like my work has improved significantly since Gather! Both the speakers - Kayla and Grace - had actionable and thought-provoking talks. I was able to take so much from each one and immediately apply the skills and tips that I learned to improve both my business and photography approach.
