About This Session:
Where do I even start with this family? I have known Miarra for about 6 years now, and have loved watching her family grow ever since. Somehow, though both of us have moved away from where we met, we ended up still loving close to each other and it brings me so much joy knowing that I can continue to document this family's lives year after year.
I recently moved back to the Richmond area after living in northern Virginia for the last 10 years, and I am having so much fun exploring the parks and architecture to be found within the area. My mom was a professional photographer when I was growing up, and I have so many pictures of myself at this particular park from when I was the same age as these kids. She used Kodak Portra film almost exclusively, and I found it fitting that this was the first session I used Portra film on after Fuji announced the discontinuation for their 400H stock. It's amazing to me how this particular location has been preserved in time, while the world around it has changed so much.
